Dina's wedding

When I posted on my facebook page that I was thinking of starting a Plus Size Division, Dina volunteered her pictures that we had just shot from her wedding as my first disply album....  Here are some of my favorites from the day.  I just love the ones with her baby girls, you can tell she loves being a mom!  They just really made her glow!  Thanks for letting me share your pictures Dina, and for having me play such a special part in the most important day of your lives!

Kelly's engagement, her words.

I have been a professional hair and make up artist for 20 years. I have always been behind the camera with an occasional behind the scenes snap. I have wanted to cry. Nothing like standing next to a model to loose all esteem. Donna took my engagement photos which were speechless and took photos of just me. WOW. Man I didn't hide from ...the snapshots then. She made me feel as beautiful as all the models I have worked with over the years. Not only did the esteem come at the perfect time, but meeting her as a professional and now as a friend. Amazingly talented professional. Maybe we can do it again one day. Thank you Donna.
and from Donna....  stolen again from her facebook posting to me.  you can see that and all the other posts that she made about our sessions on my facebook plus size photography page.
Here is the composite that I designed for them to use as a save the date card...

Nicole, doing the talking for me.

If you are checking out this page because you are plus size and need someone who specializes in Plus Size Photography....please take my word for it...stop looking and just call Donna and book your appointment...you WON'T be sorry. I've got 4 children (2,3,6 & 8) and they are my life. That being said I'm also a plus size woman and don'...t normally feel "pretty" on a regualar basis. I've also got a tendency to be behind the camera as a mom and might even "hide" behind it too. Well, that ALL changed yesterday when I had the honor of sitting for Donna and her Plus Size campaign. I have never (and I really mean that) felt so pretty in my life. My wedding photos were taken when I was much smaller and even then it was very routine and very plain. Pose, shoot, pose shoot...you know the type. NOT with Donna. She took the time to find the best angle, straighten my arms, position my neck just right, catch the sun behind my hair, even corrected a not-so-flattering wrinkle in my shirt...I could go on and on.  After the first couple of shots, she showed me the pictures on her camera and I had to hold back tears not wanting to ruin my make-up. I never knew (until she got a hold of me) that I could look so beautiful. I never saw myself look so pretty. It seemed that my she was not only taking pictures of me, but also my soul.  I LOVE these pictures and I'm so proud of them. I've never before wanted to show off pictures of myself, but today, I want to show the world. Thank you Donna...you've refueled my self-esteem and confidence and that my friend is priceless. You are awesome at what you do and you MUST keep doing it!!! You're the Plus Size Picturetaking Angel!!!!!!!

note from Donna... this was copied verbatim from my facebook photography page.  Thank you Nicole for making me feel so good about my job!

Leading the industry in Plus Size Photography

I've been photographing people and brides of all sizes for sixteen years now...  my focus has always been on getting you at the right angle and the little lightbulb just recently went on, telling me that I should make a point of sharing this specialty.  It started when I caught my daughter watching a 'Say Yes To The Dress' television episode about Plus Size Bridal Gowns.  That made me wonder if there were any photographers that specialized in Plus Sized Photography, so I googled and really didn't see anything but I didn't know how to go about it, so I thought on it for a few days when I got a phone call from a bride who inspired me.  She'd just recently done an engagement shoot with a photographer who had some great equipment and a good portfolio, but didn't have the eye that I do for photographing someone who is plus sized.  I re-shot their engagement pictures and all the while realized I had found my niche.  Instead of competing with the tens of hundreds and thousands of people who shoot environmental and photojournalistic style photography, my specialty is that I know how to finesse the shot to capture the person from their best angle.  What normal person couldn't benefit from just a little direction?!  So I'm here to say that I've got your back, literally...  I'm here for those of you who hate having your pictures taken, come have a session with me and give me a chance to change your mind!  You might come away with the best pictures you've ever taken... if not ever, at least this year ;)
